Anyway, the first thing I did was go buy baby yarn! Of course we don't know if they're having a boy or girl yet, so to keep it gender neutral I went with white. This was really my first attempt at making something so small with such tiny yarn, but I really enjoyed getting to create something from scratch purely based on some stitches I know. So, without further building up of the little hat, here is a photo of my progress:
It is simple, dc to start out, then 3 rows of puff stitches with 2 sc rows in between each and finished off alternating rows of dc and sc. Ended with a cute little border of picot. :) LOVE IT!

Last year, a couple co-workers were pregnant, so I got out some old (Lion Brand Homespun) yarn that I've had for years and made some baby hats. They are super tiny, but they fit the newborns head and actually proved to be stretchier than I figured they would be.
(Also, sorry for cell phone photos that have my work space behind them - I like to photograph asap so it tends to be at my desk.)
Now, what I'm working on - I recently started my Etsy store (for crochet) due to co-workers and a few friends cheering me on so my strategy is to create several of each pattern in various colors to give variety. So, I already had several pretty little cowls made...and I have more started but unfinished and those are up. Also had a cute hat made up ready to go up, but since then I've been kind of in limbo with finishing things. I keep starting something else for someone else and I just get behind on things. Oh well, such is the craft world I suppose. So right now, the hat is what I'm working on getting finished in a variety of colors for the shop. This pattern is really enjoyable and easy to work, especially doing it so many times, it gets ingrained in your mind...which can be tricky when starting something new afterward.
Well, that's it for today but I hope you enjoyed the photos!
I have to tell you that I really love that hat pattern that you are talking about it is so flattering to look at and I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. So far it looks great in every color you've tried.
